Changes: My Story – from the beginning

My dad was a cartographer (mapmaker) with the USGS headquartered in Denver, Colorado. When I was about a year old, my dad began taking assignments in the Rocky Mountain Region (which included seven states: Montana, North and South Dakotas, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas). We would move two to three times per year. Before graduating from high school, I had moved 45 times. Through all the changes and challenges I faced, I learned to enjoy life and have an attitude of gratitude.

My hope is to help others who feel down and out about the changes they are facing and try and shed some light so they might muster the courage to change their mindset to growth and flexibility. Don’t be disillusioned by the challenges ahead, stop comparing yourself to others and reflect on the lessons you’ve learned on the journey. Life should be enjoyed with laughter, smiling, and joking. Remember – life is what you make of it.

Please continue to follow me as I share these stories and lessons I’ve learned. Sign up below to have my posts sent directly to your email box. And share with family and friends if you think they might enjoy reading.
