As most of you already know, a hack is used to optimize productivity and, at the same time, save you money. Many people don’t think hacks are legitimate, but I’m going to list a few hacks that might come in handy – really!
- Write down your three most important tasks for the following day on the night before. This simple procedure will eliminate forgetting about them.
- Start a meal prep binder that contains your most used recipes. There is also an app called Paprika which allows you to clip recipes you like online and create a meal plan.
- If you’re back to frequently traveling, sign up for the TSA Precheck and Global Entry. The cost is $100, but it is well worth saving time and headaches at airports.
- When hungry and craving junk food, reach for a glass of water and drink as much as possible. This will often curb the appetite.
- Whenever drafting an email, whether on your phone or computer, fill in the “To” line last just in case you inadvertently hit the send button. This allows you to proof and ensures everything is correct before you forward.
- Start your gift list for the next year in January. This allows you to track what people have mentioned they want, making shopping easier.
- When cleaning or picking up in your home, don’t lay items down; put them away immediately. It saves you time.
- I heard that to fall asleep in five minutes – blink your eyes until they get so tired you can’t blink anymore. (I can’t confirm this as I don’t have this issue.)
- When traveling with dirty laundry, keep a bar of scented soap in the same compartment as the dirty clothes.
- Use a washed-out ketchup bottle to pour pancake batter onto the griddle for no mess.
- To get a beverage cold, wrap a wet paper towel around the bottle, put it into the freezer, and in 15 minutes, it will be ice cold.
- Use toothpaste to shine up your headlights.
- You can use a can opener to open blister packs from the store.
- If you like iced coffee, pour leftover coffee into plastic ice cube trays, freeze them, then add to your cold drink so it won’t water down your coffee.
- To finish the last little bit in the Nutella jar, add ice cream and enjoy the dessert.
- Freeze green grapes and add to your white wine to keep it cold.
- Use fingernail polish to paint the handle of your keys to color code them.
