ARE YOU READY? August and September bring about a new chapter in many of our lives. For students, they are going back to their school routine (hopefully after the Covid pandemic). Parents are preparing their students for the new year at school, for any extra-curricular activities before or after school, and for any clubs their children might participate in, along with planning their return to the workplace.
I remember those years, albeit it’s been a while as my daughters are now in their 30s. We started by trying on the previous year’s school clothes and shoes to make sure they fit. Then to tackle the school supply list. It seemed to me that each year there were more supplies for the students to provide. Also for consideration were the sports team’s rules and regulations, what we were responsible for providing, the uniform they are to wear, and the fees to participate in such sport. But I found that one of the biggest challenges was synchronizing the calendars.
While we continue to pray for this world and the extinction of the Covid-19 virus, let us not forget to pray for all the school bus drivers, principals, teachers, and students for this new year. Help us all to be patient with each other, helpful to those in need, and, if possible, volunteer at the school or church.
I’ve compiled a list of 16 motivational and inspirational songs to assist you and hopefully help contribute to a brighter day.

If you’re in a rut and wanting to get a little pep in your step, play one of these songs and watch your face light up as you dance around the room. That could help the anxiety of the unknown. The words in the songs might stick in your mind for the rest of the day, helping to alleviate the new and changing things in your life.
During my childhood, whenever I was visiting my grandmother in Denver, she would motion for me to join her after breakfast each morning, and we would go to each bed and make it. While we were making beds and opening the blinds, she would sing the words, “Oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a beautiful day, I’ve got a beautiful feeling, everything’s going my way!” To this day, as I tidy up in the morning, opening blinds and making beds, I sing this song to myself and fondly remember my grandmother and how it made me feel as a child.
The legacy we leave our children is so important – as they will pass that on to the next generation and the following generation. To have a positive and happy attitude is one of the best gifts you can give yourself and others.
Everyone have a blessed start to their new school year!
